Boxer Dillian Whyte speaks out on Stormzy feud

Boxer Dillian Whyte has said that his feud with Stormzy has ended – and has even invited the BRITs winner to his upcoming fight.

The ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’ star previously introduced Anthony Joshua during his fight against Dillian Whyte in 2015. Stormzy played ‘Shut Up’ as the heavyweight champion made his way to the ring at the O2 Arena.

The Grime artist had also took aim at Whyte during ‘One Take Freestyle’ – saying: “Threatening me won’t make you the heavyweight champ rudeboy”.

Now, as his fight against Lucas Browne approaches, Whyte has claimed that he’s willing to leg bygones be bygones.

“Me and Stormzy had our little nonsense, but fair play to Stormzy he’s doing well,” Whyte said in an interview with Sky Sports. “You cannot hate on a man that’s doing well.”

He continued: “That thing at the fight was part of launching his career, so it’s a business. At the time, I was a bit annoyed about it, but you can’t take these things personally. You have to learn to forgive and move on.

“Congratulations to him, he’s doing good, and I hope he will continue to do good. I cannot hate on a man for doing good and feeding his family.”

Showing there’s no bad blood between the pair, Whyte invited Stormzy to next month’s fight.

“He can have tickets to come,” he said. “Listen, as long as these people are supporting who they are supporting. Whether they are supporting me to lose or to win, I don’t care. The only thing that matters is the support.”

Stormzy responded on Twitter by sending Whyte his “love and respect”. See that Tweet above.

Meanwhile, Stormzy is in talks to perform at a concert in memory of Stephen Lawrence, after meeting Lawrence’s mother, Baroness Doreen Lawrence, at The Brit Awards.

At last week’s ceremony, Stormzy used his performance to take aim at Prime Minister Theresa May in the Grenfell Tower inquiry.

Earlier that evening, he picked up two Brit Awards for British Male Solo Artist and Best British Album.
