The suspect is being held on $20,000 bail.
The man accused of stealing Frances McDormand’s Oscar at the Governors Ball Sunday evening pleaded not guilty to the crime on Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
Terry Bryant, 47, allegedly nabbed the statue and wandered around the party, pretending it was his, even bragging to guests.
Bryant posted video of himself with the award to social media, but it has since been taken down. Other cameras at the venue also captured him with the Oscar.
A photographer at the Governors Ball felt something was not right with the situation and he took the Oscar from Bryant. It eventually got returned to McDormand — who won for her role in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri — later in the evening.
Bryant was charged Tuesday with felony theft. He has remained in jail since his arrest late Sunday.
Bail is set at $20,000.
He faces a maximum sentence of three years in county jail if convicted.
He is due back in court March 28.
