The ‘Matrix’ and ‘Jessica Jones’ actress will play an FBI agent in the Scandinavian thriller, which co-stars Richie Campbell and Norwegian actor Sven Nordin.

Canadian actress Carrie-Anne Moss has signed on to star in Norwegian crime series Wisting, playing an FBI agent who travels to Scandinavia to track an American serial killer on the lam.

The 10-part drama was commissioned by Scandinavian broadcaster Modern Times Group (MTG) for its Viaplay digital streaming service and Norwegian free-to-air network TV3, together with German public broadcaster ARD. Banijay Rights is handling international sales for the show.

Norwegian actor Sven Nordin (Lilyhammer) stars as the eponymous Wisting, a homicide detective pursuing a wanted American serial killer now living somewhere in Norway. Things get complicated when reporting by Wisting’s own daughter Line, an investigative journalist, lead her straight into the path of the killer. Wisting is based on the crime series by best-selling author Jorn Lier Horst. The first season is adapted from his books The Hunting Dogs and The Caveman.

British actor Richie Campbell (The Frankenstein Chronicles) has also joined the cast of Wisting in the role of an FBI agent.

“To be a part of something with this kind of caliber is exciting for me,” said Moss. “Characters and stories created through the lens of Scandinavia’s expert perspective, alongside working with actors such as Sven Nordin, make this a thrilling project for me.”

Shooting on the series has already begun in southern Norway. Wisting, created by Katarina Launing and Trygve Allister Diesen and written by Diesen and Kathrine Valen Zeiner, is set to be the biggest drama series produced in Norway. Cinenord Drama and Denmark’s Good Company Films are producing.
