CW Slots Acquired Drama ‘The Outpost’ for Summer

The 10-part fantasy series from Dean Devlin and Jonathan Glassner was announced in 2017, prior to any distributor deal.

The CW is beefing up its summer schedule, adding acquired sci-fi drama The Outpost to the lineup.

The 10-part series from executive producers Dean Devlin (The Librarians) and Jonathan Glassner (Stargate SG-1) was previously announced without any distribution, though it will also air on Syfy in international territories. Though no premiere date was announced, it will air alongside the final run of The Originals, The 100, the second half of Supergirl‘s season and unscripted series Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Penn & Teller: Fool Us and Masters of Illusion.

“We are thrilled that The Outpost will be premiering on the CW this summer,” said Devlin. “The CW is an amazing platform for fantasy television and has a long history of success with the genre. We are confident that this is a terrific home for this project that we are so proud of — and look very much forward to this partnership.”

The Outpost, decidedly fantasy, stars Jessica Green as the lone survivor of her race, bent on revenge against the mercenaries who killed her family. She discovers that she possesses a “mysterious supernatural power,” naturally. The series also stars Jake Stormoen, Imogen Waterhouse, Andrew Howard, Anand Desai-Barochia and Robyn Malcolm.

The series is being prodiced by Electric Entertainment and Arrowstorm Entertainment,.
