Director Josh Kahn has responded to criticism from Taylor Swift fans ahead of the release of her new music video for ‘Delicate’.
Yesterday saw Swift announce that the video for ‘Delicate’ would be arriving on March 11 with the iHeartRadio Awards.
However, Swifties have taken to Twitter to call out Kahn for making her videos too ‘futuristic’ in the seven that has directed:
something literally delicate. no robots, no futuristic stuff, just something amazing. thanks. @JosephKahn

I’ll be so mad if Delicate music video is sci fi or some futuristic shit
Delicate deserves so much better than that @JosephKahn can you hear me??— Mah¡ma♡//ia bc exams (@ShadesOfTaylena) February 28, 2018
I swear if it’s futuristic and there’s robots in it, I’m suing. Delicate deserves a beautiful masterpiece of a video.

Sci-fi, futuristic, cars, robots, whatever. I’m really just hoping Delicate video would be fluffy and soft and actually relates to the song.

Joseph Kahn constantly talking about how he doesn’t put robots in music videos and then proceeding to put one in the delicate video just to drag us all to filth. pic.twitter.com/I9YA59kyjQ

Joseph, if the Delicate video has no robots you can have as many robots as you want in the future.

Khan then responded to fans, pointing out the multiple instances that his work with Swift did not feature any robots.
“‘Joseph make something original. Make Wildest Dreams 2.0. Exactly like that. Thank you’,” he wrote. “You can stop sending me fan concepts lol, video was shot weeks ago.”
He continued: “In retrospect you are right, I put way too much robots and fighting in the ‘Wildest Dreams’ video. Honestly I should have put five less spaceships in ‘BLANK SPACE’. It was a little much. My bad. Rewatching ‘OUT OF THE WOODS’. Goddammit what was I thinking with that lightsaber fight? Didn’t fit the song at all.”
He added: “Buy wigs.”
