Gus Kenworthy Announces He Will Host E! Academy Awards Red Carpet Show Segment

The Olympic skier will be hosting E!’s “Puppy Predictions” segment, which enlists dogs to help divine the film that will take home the best picture prize.

TV viewers who couldn’t get enough of Gus Kenworthy at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang are in luck: The Olympic skier announced that he will be hosting a red-carpet segment during E!’s coverage of the Academy Awards on Sunday.

“Puppies, live TV and the #ERedCarpet… What could go wrong?! Make sure to tune into the Academy Awards red carpet show tomorrow at 1pm ET/ 10am PT on E! to watch me host the Puppy Predictions! Woof!” Kenworthy tweeted on Saturday.

E! has come under close scrutiny for keeping Ryan Seacrest as a host of its 2018 Oscars red-carpet coverage after a former stylist for the channel alleged that he had been inappropriate with her in the workplace. Jennifer Lawrence has publicly waffled as to whether she will be speaking to Seacrest on Sunday, while Live With Kelly and Ryan co-host Kelly Ripa has spoken out in support of Seacrest’s version of the surfaced relationship. Seacrest has denied all allegations of misconduct.

E!’s “Puppy Predictions” segment will feature nine dogs, each wearing a t-shirt bearing the name of a best picture nominee, racing down a “red-carpet course.” The one who wins the race will “predict” the best picture winner.

The segment will air at 10 a.m. PST/1 p.m. EST on Sunday.
