Infinity War Posters Spotlight Thanos’ Black Order

New posters for Avengers: Infinity War share the best look yet at Thanos’ Black Order, plus some new looks at the heroes. After 10 years, Marvel Studios is finally bringing together characters from all across their vast universe. The reason for such a gathering is the payoff to their longterm goals first teased in the post-credits of The Avengers: the arrival of Thanos. While the Avengers have stopped their fair share of threats alone and together, nothing comes close to what the Mad Titan will bring. Making matters even worse, he won’t be alone in his effort for total control of the galaxy.

Thanos will be joined by the Black Order, who will be his children in the MCU take. With Proxima Midnight, Ebony Maw, Cull Obsidian, and Corvus Glaive helping him on his journey, they’ll come face-to-face with the Avengers. The trailers make it appear as though they are doing his bidding and rounding up the Infinity Stones, leading to an epic battle in Wakanda against a team led by Captain America and Black Panther.

The actual footage released hasn’t really shown any of them off, but Marvel’s promoted their inclusion ever since the unveiling at D23. While we got a sense of their looks through those statues, they still haven’t really been put front and center. Trends International just revealed a bunch of new Infinity War posters, including one that puts the shine on the secondary villains. See that poster and more in the gallery below:

If this promo material is any indication of how the Black Order will actually look in the movie, it appears that Marvel will deliver on the visual aspect of them. Each of the characters looks identical to their comic counterparts, and they have a level of detail that is needed for CGI heavy creations like them. The poster also features additional looks at the Outriders (the alien race sent to battle in Wakanda), the giant ring devices seen in the trailers, and a fleet of spaceships Thanos also appears to have at his disposal. The latter haven’t been featured to this point in the marketing, but is an obvious need for Thanos’ forces as they travel throughout the galaxy.

The rest of the posters just continue to give more looks at the heroes, while something could be made out of which heroes they continue to promote. Star-Lord, Iron Man, Cap, Doctor Strange, Thor, and Spider-Man have consistently been in most of the promo materials, which could signify they are the biggest players in this story. However, some of the designs do raise more questions, such as why does Thor have both of his eyes again? Iron Man’s new armor also has a different design with a canon resting atop his right arm, instead of the entire arm turning into it – which could complicate theories that Tony loses a hand in the film. Whatever the case is, there’s even less time to wait than ever thanks to its new release date.
