Jim Belushi to Co-Star in ABC Drama ‘Salvage’

The sunken treasure pilot stars Toby Kebbell and Charity Wakefield.

Jim Belushi is returning to ABC.

Nearly 10 years after sitcom According to Jim wrapped its eight-season run, the actor has been tapped to co-star in the network’s drama pilot Salvage.

The drama revolves around ex-cop Jimmy Hill (Toby Kebbell), who just wants to be left alone after moving back home in rural Florida. But when a local murder is linked to the sunken treasure of a lost Spanish galleon, he’s drawn into the investigation by an idealistic deputy and pitted against the powerful town patriarch, outside criminal agents and his own father. Charity Wakefield co-stars as Gwen, the daughter of the town’s richest man who arrives with a tragic side.

Belushi will play Duke Daniels, Gwen’s larger-than-life father and Hemingway-esque patriarch of the town — and a man not to be messed with. In Bel Grove, you either work for the Daniels or you are one. He owns the town’s only factor and makes sure things always work to his advantage.

Belushi’s recent credits include Wonder Wheel, Twin Peaks and Show Me a Hero. His last broadcast series regular role was on CBS drama The Defendres, which ran for one season in 2011. He’s repped by ICM Partners and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
