The Rolling Stones‘ Keith Richards has suggested that Taylor Swift‘s success might be short-lived.
Despite Swift joining The Stones on stage to perform ‘As Tears Go By‘ in 2013, the veteran guitarist has now issued her an ultimatum via the Wall Street Journal, telling her: “Good luck girl — wish her well while it lasts.’
He continued: “I’ve just been around too long to be picking the bones out of kids. It wouldn’t be fair of me and I’ve always been an opinionated bastard anyway. And I never did really like pop music ― even when I became pop music, I was listening to the blues and jazz and not interested in the hits.”
This echoes comments he made several years ago when he told GQ Magazine: “Taylor is a pretty girl… (but she’s just a) flavour of the month.”
Speaking of the honour of performing with The Stones, Swift described it as ‘the best moment ever‘.
“The whole band, they’re so welcoming and wonderful and approachable and all the things you would hope your heroes would be,” she said. “It’s wonderful getting that phone call. Like, ‘Hey, would you like to go and play with The Rolling Stones?’ That is a bold, underlined, exclamation point ‘Yes’!”
Both Taylor Swift and the Rolling Stones will be heading out on tours of their own later this year.

Tickets to The Rolling Stones’ tour meanwhile, went on sale today.
The band also made headlines this week when drummer Charlie Watts denied that David Bowie was a musical genius.
Speaking about Bowie’s death in 2016, Watts said that he was surprised by the outpouring of grief. “I thought people would have been very sad obviously, and he was a lovely guy and he wrote a couple of good songs,” Watts explained. “But for me, he wasn’t this musical genius.”
