Liam Gallagher has pulled out of his gig at Palladium in Cologne, Germany, this evening (March 4).
Referencing this week’s adverse weather, the Godlike Genius joked: “The beast from the East has wiped out the Cock of the North.”
Gallagher, who is currently on tour promoting his first solo album ‘As You Were’, went on to explain that he has a nose, ear and sinus infection and is under doctor’s orders to rest.
Confirming that the sold out gig would not go ahead, Gallagher said: “The Beast from the East has wiped out the Cock of the North.
“I’m going to have to reschedule tonight’s Cologne gig under Drs order as I have a nose, ear and sinus infection. Been told to rest up and take antibiotics. See you in Berlin tomorrow LG x”
Gallagher is scheduled to perform at Columbiahalle tomorrow (March 5). Later this year, he is will play a string of UK dates, including headline spots at Isle of Wight festival and TRNSMT and RiZE festivals.
Gallagher recently picked up NME’s Godlike Genius Award. Collecting his trophy, Gallagher said: “I want to dedicate this to my mam and my army of songwriters, past and present. The parka monkeys.”
Last month, the singer hit out at brother Noel Gallagher’s wife, claiming she is the reason their former band Oasis are no longer together.
Think it’s time to address the witch,” he wrote. “You want me to drop dead – you have a screw loose and know the world knows.”
He continued: “She’s the reason Oasis is no longer – have to put it out there, she’s DARK.”
Gallagher also criticised Paul Weller, dubbing the Jam star “full of shit” on Twitter.
He wrote: “Weller’s full of shit as well. Porcelain mod father – can’t wait to bump him.”
