Liam Gallagher responds to claims that he robbed Richard Madeley’s house and had a poo in his neighbour’s bath

“I didn’t do a shit in Gladys’ bath”.

Liam Gallagher has denied robbing Richard Madeley’s house, after the TV presenter claimed that his home was burgled by the former Oasis singer and brother Noel in the 1990s.

The former This Morning star was discussing Liam’s Godlike Genius win at the VO5 NME Awards 2018 last month when he made the claims.

“Him and his brother used to live quite close to us when we used to live in Manchester,” Madeley said on Good Morning Britain.

“They admitted in the early stages of their career they did a little bit of robbery, a little bit of burglary and we think they did our house.”

He added: “I spoke to them about it, and we spoke about it, it was many years ago and they’ve probably forgotten about it now and they said ‘Yeah I think we did that one yeah, I think we did that one, went in through the window yeah’”.

Now, Liam has spoken out on Twitter to deny Madeley’s claim, as well as rubbishing an outlandish accusation of defecating in his elderly neighbour’s bathtub – which was yesterday documented in the fictionalised pages of The Sunday Sport.

“For the record I never robbed RIchard n Judys and I didn’t do a shit in Gladys bath”, he wrote.

And after being forced to cancel a show in Cologne on doctor’s orders over the weekend, he confirmed that “Berlin is on”.

When asked his opinion of Madeley and wife Judy Finnigan, Gallagher added: “I love them, always had respect for them both. I’m appalled that they’d think I’d so such a thing.”

Yesterday, Noel also responded to the scurrilous Sunday Sport accusations, and jokingly apologised for the fictional act.

Speaking to NME last month ahead of collecting the Godlike Genius Award, Liam opened up on the follow-up to 2017 solo debut ‘As You Were’  and promised that it is more “in-yer-face”.

“A bit more up-tempo,” he said when asked about what album two holds.

“A bit more in-yer-face. Less apologetic. I’d love to do a proper out-and-out punk rock album – a bit Pistols, a bit Stooges. I can do that gear; I can definitely sing ’em. Some of the sing-y songs are a bit of a struggle when I do ’em live. But the lippy ones I can do all day long. The ones where you spit ’em out. You’re not necessarily singing, you’re just f**king screaming and shouting. I’m all for that.”
