Matt Bellamy and Graham Coxon’s Beatles cover band to support Roger Daltrey

Muse‘s Matt Bellamy and Blur‘s Graham Coxon will join forces to bring their Beatles tribute band to London’s Royal Albert Hall, supporting The Who‘s Roger Daltrey at a Teenage Cancer Trust show later this month.

The Teenage Cancer Trust gig series turns 18 this year, with The Courteeners and Kasabian already announced to play shows on March 23 and March 24 respectively.

It has now been confirmed that Dr Pepper’s Jaded Hearts Club Band, a supergroup that includes both Bellamy and Coxon doing Beatles covers, will support Daltrey at one of the dates on March 22. Tickets are on sale now.

The tribute act – led by Bellamy – has previously seen the Muse frontman team up with the likes of Miles Kane and Paul McCartney himself.

Daltrey says of the news: “I’m very happy to welcome Muse’s Matt Bellamy who will be joining me on my night for Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall Thurs 22 March. Matt will be bringing his Dr. Pepper’s Jaded Hearts Club Band including Blur’s Graham Coxon to belt out a set of Beatles classics. It’s their first UK show and will be great fun.”

The Who frontman adds of what to expect from his own set: “I’m looking forward to playing The Who hits and I will also be revisiting some of the rarer songs that I’ve recorded with The Who and as a solo artist. By ‘rarer’ I mean songs like ‘How Many Friends’, ‘Its Not Enough’, ‘Giving It All Away’ and others that were never played live before.”

“I am always so grateful for the artists who come out to support this charity. It’s going to be another special night for Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall and we’re all really looking forward to it.”

Other acts set to play Teenage Cancer Trust shows include Nile Rodgers & Chic, Def Leppard, UB40 ft Ali, Astro and Mickey, plus an evening of comedy hosted by Russell Howard. Find more information here.
