Rick Ross reportedly hospitalised after being found ‘unresponsive’

According to reports, the Florida rapper was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Thursday morning (March 1)

Rick Ross has reportedly been hospitalised this week after being found unresponsive in his Miami home.

According to TMZ, the Florida rapper was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Thursday morning (March 1) after he was discovered to be both unresponsive and breathing heavily.

The site initially reported that, upon arrival to hospital, Ross was taken to a cardiac unit and placed on a form of life support called ECMO (Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) – which provides assistance to a person whose heart or lungs are deemed to not be functioning properly.

However, members of Ross’s family and his friends have disputed TMZ‘s claim that the rapper is on life support. Fellow rapper Fat Trel took to Instagram following the reports last night (March 2), assuring fans that he’d just spoken to Ross and that he was “good” and “not on ‘life support’”. After news broke of Ross’s hospitalisation, his peers in the music and entertainment world began to rally round in support of the rapper. See some of the messages below.

Back in 2011, Ross suffered a pair of seizures in the space of a few weeks. The first seizure occurred during a flight from Fort Lauderdale to Memphis, with the plane having to make an emergency landing in order to save the rapper.
