The ‘Masseducation’ artist will join the Oscar-nominated Stevens as part of his backing band tomorrow night (March 4)
St. Vincent is set to perform with Sufjan Stevens at tomorrow night’s Academy Awards.
Stevens has been nominated for Best Original Song at the Oscars 2018, which takes place in Hollywood tomorrow (March 4), for his track ‘Mystery of Love’. The song featured on the soundtrack to the acclaimed film Call Me By Your Name, which was has been nominated for a total of four Academy Awards.
As is Oscars tradition, each musician nominated for Best Original Song will perform at the ceremony. Stevens has now unveiled the musicians who will accompany him on stage tomorrow night, with St. Vincent set to form part of a “dream team” of performers.
As well as St. Vincent, Moses Sumney, Chris Thile, The Shins’ Casey Foubert and James McAlister will all perform with Stevens at the Oscars.
As well as Stevens, the other four nominees in the Best Original Song category will also perform at the Oscars 2018. Mary J. Blige will sing ‘Mighty River’ from Mudbound; Miguel, Gael Garcia Bernal and Natalia Lafourcade will perform ‘Remember Me’ from Coco, Common and Andra Day will play ‘Stand Up For Something’ from Marshall, and Keala Settle will sing ‘This Is Me’ from The Greatest Showman.
The Oscars will kick off at 01:30 AM UK time tomorrow.
