Sterling K. Brown Recreates ‘SNL’ Credits on a Budget

The ‘This is Us’ star will host Saturday night’s episode, with musical guest James Bay.

Sterling K. Brown is ready for his close-up in the new promo for his upcoming gig hosting Saturday Night Live on March 10.

To celebrate the actor’s debut on the SNL stage, Brown took it upon himself to pay homage to the show’s credits by re-creating the opening sequence on a budget. Using a collection of random action figures, a boombox and cardboard replica of New York City, Brown can be overheard yelling, “It’s Saturday Night Live!” in an announcer-style voice.

Throughout the promo, the actor announces each SNL castmember’s name, using action figures and dolls and stand-ins including Fred from Scooby-Doo as Beck Bennett, a Care Bear as Aidy Bryant, Tinkerbell as Leslie Jones, Snow White as Cecily Strong, and an Angry Birds pig as Pete Davidson.

Brown was able to successfully re-create the show’s credits without any hiccups, until he got to this week’s host and screwed up his own name.
