Taylor Swift may be responsible for the cancellation of Donald Glover’s ‘Deadpool’

Stephen Glover has said that his planned Deadpool TV series featured a Taylor Swift episode – and claims that it was “the last straw” in the show being cancelled.

The actor, alongside his brother Donald, was set to write, executive produce and serve as a showrunner on an “animated adult action-comedy series” based on the Deadpool comics. He signed a 10-episode deal with FX for the show last May.

Earlier this week, FX issued a statement announcing the series is not moving ahead at the network after “creative differences” caused them, Marvel, and the Glovers to part ways on the project.

Following the news, Donald Glover took to Twitter to say: for the record: i wasnt too busy to work on deadpool.” He also shared a mock Deadpool script.

In a now-deleted follow-up tweet, his brother has suggested that Swifty may be indirectly responsible for the show never making it to air.

“There really was a Taylor Swift episode,” he posted (as reported by The Wrap). “It was HILARIOUS. And it definitely was the last straw lol”.

A second tweet read: “Our show wasn’t too black. It wasn’t really that black at all. But we definitely wanted to give ‘Rick and Morty’ a run for their money and I think we would have. Proud of the gang.”

The second Deadpool movie is set for release on May 27. The first full-length trailer was released last week, which shows Ryan Reynolds’ superhero battling Josh Brolin’s Cable with a “super-duper fucking group” of fellow heroes he dubs “X-Force”.
