The Magicians is staying put at Syfy.
The NBCUniversal-owned cable network has renewed the drama for a fourth season of 13 episodes set to return in 2019.
Currently airing its third season, the Universal Cable Productions effort is Syfy’s top scripted series among the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic over the past three years.
The drama stars Jason Ralph, Stella Maeve and Olivia Taylor Dudley and is based on the best-selling novels by Lev Grossman about a group of twenty-something friends who discover their magical abilities and ward off evil. John McNamara, Sera Gamble, Chris Fisher, Henry Alonso Myers and Groundswell Productions’ Michael London and Janice Williams executive produce.
The Magicians is part of a scripted roster at Syfy that also includes the forthcoming final season of 12 Monkeys, Channel Zero, The Expanse, Killjoys, Van Helsing, Wynonna Earp, Superstition, Happy, Krypton, The Purge and Nightflyers.
Still to be determined are the fate of the pilots Tremors, Deadly Class and Run for Your Life.
