On Friday night, Depp joined Stone Temple Pilots on stage in Santa Clarita, CA for his latest live performance. Together, the star and the band played STP’s ‘Sex Type Thing’, before then delivering a cover of MC5’s ‘Kick Out The Jams’ – with MC5 member Wayne Kramer also joining in.

Back in January, Depp’s controversial casting in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald was publicly discussed by Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, who admitted that the issue was “a very hard thing” for him to talk about.

Anger over Depp’s casting in the forthcoming sequel to 2016’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them dominated much of the talk surrounding the upcoming film late last year, with some fans even threatening to boycott the movie entirely.
