Lorde covered Drake in his hometown of Toronto on Thursday night (March 29).
The New Zealand singer recently covered Kanye in Chicago, telling the crowd that “it must be nice to come from the same place as Kanye”.
Now she covered another hometown hero at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, taking on Drake’s ‘Shot For Me’ from his 2011 album ‘Take Care’. Lorde told the crowd that Drake is a “great hug giver”.

Earlier in March, Lorde covered Frank Ocean and performed an unreleased song at a live show in Milwaukee.
During the gig, Lorde covered Ocean’s ‘Blonde’ cut ‘Solo’ and played an unheard number. The latter was an unreleased song written during her ‘Melodrama’ album sessions, with its title not currently known.
Lorde is currently on tour with Run The Jewels, who she recently teamed up with for a remix of ‘Supercut’. Mitski is also supporting for the North American dates.
Last month saw Lorde win the Best International Solo Artist prize at the VO5 NME Awards 2018. She couldn’t attend the ceremony, but you can see the message she sent in the clip above.
