Fan art imagines what actor Guy Pearce would look like as the Reverse-Flash in Flashpoint. There is a lot of excitement among fans of DC recently as several upcoming movies revealed new information and rumors. From finding out that the villain of Wonder Woman 2 will potentially be Cheetah to an early reveal of Zachary Levi in costume for Shazam!, there is a lot to be excited about in these upcoming movies. Even the ones that won’t be seen for several years.
Among those films is Flashpoint – the first solo film for Ezra Miller’s version of Barry Allen/The Flash. Based on the comic book story of the same name, Flashpoint is expected to be about an alternate timeline created by Barry when he tried to change the past. In the comics, it meant that some characters lived while others died and that some heroes were villains and villains were heroes. The known details about the movie may change, especially once the writer/directors are confirmed, but the basic premise will probably be the same.

Meanwhile, some fans are considering who they want to play the more iconic characters from the comic – assuming they are a part of the film. For one fan, known on Reddit as TheBatFlashHunter2, there is one person who they think should play one of the most iconic villains in Barry Allen’s life – Eobard Thawne aka Reverse-Flash. And the poster they made shows just how the actor might look in the role.
The British born Pearce grew up in Australia where he began his career. He had already been acting for several years when he landed a star-making role in the movie The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. He won critical acclaim for his work in the movies L.A. Confidential, Memento, and The King’s Speech. And comic fans known him as villain Aldrich Killian from Iron Man 3.
As much history as Barry Allen and Eobard Thawne have in the comics, there is no guarantee at this early stage that the character will actually be a part of Flashpoint. Especially if the movie wants to distance itself from The Flash and the rest of the Arrowverse, where Thawne has been quite memorably played by both Tom Cavanaugh and Matt Letscher. Still, it is hard to believe that the movie will completely leave out Barry’s arch-nemesis. And should the Reverse-Flash make an appearance in Flashpoint, then Pearce could certainly put his own spin on the character and do justice to the villain.
