Azealia Banks has responded to Kim Kardashian’s defence of Kanye West‘s pro-Trump tweets.
On Twitter over the past few days, Kanye has said that he “loves” Trump, called the US President his “brother” and shared a photo of himself wearing a signed ‘Make America Great Again’ hat. Trump has responded by thanking West and saying that his recent Twitter activity had been “very cool”.
Amid Kanye’s Twitter spree, Kardashian tweeted that she loves her husband because he “will never run in the race of popular opinion” and “is years ahead of his time”. She also stressed that West “never said he agrees” with Trump’s politics.
Now when he spoke out about Trump… Most people (including myself) have very different feelings & opinions about this. But this is HIS opinion. I believe in people being able to have their own opinions, even if really different from mine

Kanye will never run in the race of popular opinion and we know that and that’s why I love him and respect him and in a few years when someone else says the same exact thing but they aren’t labeled the way he is and you will all praise them! Kanye is years ahead of his time

Prior to the 2016 Presidential election, Azealia Banks said that she would vote for Trump because he’s “evil, like America”, later withdrawing her endorsement after comments made by Trump about allegedly groping women emerged.
However, after Trump beat Hillary Clinton to make it to the White House, the rapper posted a series of messages to Facebook, describing herself as “fucking proud as FUCK” and arguing that “America deserves a WAAAAAAAY better first female president then trash ass Hillary”.
Now, Banks has hit back at Kardashian’s tweets in an Instagram post, accusing the couple of “aggravating” black people and using “outrage” for publicity. Banks also notes that she “said alllll of these things during the election”.
She wrote: “No @kimkardashian Kanye is not ahead of his time. I said alllll of these things during the election. I had an actual reason for it. Never once did I call trump a good person or say he deserves ‘love’. Y’all are aggravating the black people at the expense of dragging their outrage into more clicks/streams etc for whatever Kanye is about to drop.”
“Outrage is internet engagement algorithm 101, y’all are not slick,” Banks continued. “Nothing at all profound, necessary or eloquent about anything your husband says. I wish you would make him read a book cover to cover before you send that black man into a world of white people with such base level theories as well as his very limited vernacular as pertaining to any of the pseudo-intellectual things he tries to say.”
“Kanye will never be the president and you will never ever be the First Lady. Give it up sis.”
Banks has also indicated her intent to restock ‘Make Azealia Great Again’ hats:
