The Weeknd announces new album ‘My Dear Melancholy’

The follow-up to 2016’s ‘Starboy’ is imminent – fans have been told to expect its arrival later tonight (March 29)

After weeks of speculation, The Weeknd has finally confirmed the title of his next album – ‘My Dear Melancholy’.

The follow-up to Abel Tesfaye’s third studio album ‘Starboy’ – which was released in November 2016 – has been teased by the artist in the past week, with Tesfaye posting in-the-studio clips and screenshots of conversations with his associates.

Earlier today (March 29), a billboard in Shoreditch, east London appeared to reveal the title of the new record with the subtitle ‘New album from The Weeknd. Available now.’ [via Clash]

The Weeknd has now taken to his social media channels to confirm that ‘My Dear Melancholy’ is in fact the new album’s title, and that the record will drop ‘tonight’. He also shared the LP’s artwork – check it out below:

A source recently told Billboard that the Weeknd’s next album will see “Abel taking it back to his roots.”

Meanwhile, The Weeknd’s own Marvel comic book is set to be released this summer.

Tesfaye recently shared more details about the comic, with issue one of The Weeknd Presents: Starboy set to be released on June 13 – featuring Tesfaye as the hero of the piece.
