Woman sexually assaulted at Foo Fighters’ Chicago show

The alleged incident took place during the band’s opening night at Wrigley Field on Sunday evening

A woman was sexually assaulted during Foo Fighters‘ concert in Chicago on Sunday night (July 29).

The band played the second of two shows at the city’s Wrigley Field stadium last night, but it was during their first night at the venue that the alleged incident took place.

As reported by The Chicago Tribune, police have said that a 23-year-old woman was groped by a man while she was standing in a queue for food around 9:30 p.m.

The man then reportedly followed the woman into a portable toilet, which he was able to enter before she could lock the door. It was here that the assault took place, with the offender allegedly grabbing her neck and hitting her head against the wall.

The woman then reported to a nursing station, where police and an ambulance were both called.

Describing the man, police said that he was white, between 40 and 50, 5’9” with brown thinning hair and possibly a receding hairline. No arrests have been made as yet, but police are reviewing CCTV footage and have taken the portable toilet away as evidence.

“We are using every available resource to help authorities identify and apprehend the suspect and are working with CPD to address the matter quickly,” Julian Green, Vice President of Communications and Community Affairs for the Chicago Cubs, said.

“We are encouraging anyone who may have information to please contact police. We are increasing security staff in the portable restroom area so we have a fixed visual presence to monitor guests going in and out of the restrooms.

“Guest safety is paramount at Wrigley Field and we take every opportunity to ensure our guests’ safety, including routinely reviewing our security protocols and procedures with police.”
