Azealia Banks apologises to Elon Musk in new letter: “I feel terrible about everything”

The rapper has written a lengthy apology

Azealia Banks has released a letter apologising to Elon Musk following her recent high-profile stay at the SpaceX founder’s house. The rapper had apparently been waiting at Musk’s house for Grimes to arrive so the pair could collaborate on some new music.

The letter of apology comes after Banks started to tweet intimate details of Musk and Grimes personal life whilst growing increasingly frustrated when Grimes seemingly failed to turn up for the collaboration.

The rapper wrote on her Instagram: “Literally been sitting at Elon Musk’s house alone for days waiting for Grimes to show up and start these sessions…I have no idea when she is coming back. I’m going to wait one more day then I’m going to go home.”

She also added that staying at Musk’s house was like “a real life episode of ‘Get Out’.”

When Musk initially denied knowing Banks, she later started to share screen shots of her conversations with Grimes.

Now, Banks has issued a lengthy letter of apology saying that she feels “terrible about everything.”

She wrote: “This is a strange situation to be in…I guess I could start off by apologizing for all of the painful events you’ve endured over the past week, as I feel as though my actions have largely exacerbated them.”

She continued: “Its important you know that I came to your home without a single intention other than finishing a series of tracks with “”, who I’d been in correspondence with since sometimes around June and July.”

Banks never refers to Grimes directly in the letter, only using speech marks to seemingly denote the star in one sentence.

Banks added: “Over the time I spent leasing said collaborations, I was welcomed to a lot of personal information about you. This stuff made me feel awkward and uncomfortable about privy to, yet I never had any intentions of ever using the information against you. What started off as a cat-fight lead to some seriously unexpected consequences and I sincerely apologize.”

Banks concluded the letter by reaching out to Musk, saying she would like to meet him in person “to properly and formally introduce myself to you.”

The rapper is now back working on her music, having revealed last month that she had temporarily “cancelled” new album ‘Fantasea II: The Second Wave‘. She’d also said that she was looking forward to Grimes appearing on the record.

“Omg I’m listening to f2!!!” she previously Tweeted. “All the songs are finished except lorelei and grimes song. I have a session next week with Alex Carapetis to lock lorelei down. Then I go to LA to finish grimes and oh yes!! Finish Paradiso two! But daaaaaaaamn there’s some heat!”
