The band’s “final” album ‘Saints Of Los Angeles’ was released in 2008
Motley Crüe appear to be working on new music after drummer Tommy Lee and bassist Nikki Sixx were photographed in the studio together.
The band quit touring in 2015 and signed an agreement saying they would never tour again. Their last album ‘Saints Of Los Angeles‘ was released in 2008 and, though they haven’t said they wouldn’t release any more new music, the band have been inactive on that front since.
Yesterday (August 28), a photo appeared on the band’s official Facebook page of Lee and Sixx in the studio with producer Bob Rock. The band previously worked with him on their 1989 record ‘Dr. Feel Good‘.

Lee later posted the same image on his Instagram page with the caption: “It’s that new shit!!!!” He also uploaded a video of him playing drums, captioned: “Boomz!!!!!!”
No images of singer Vince Neil and guitarist Mick Mars in the studio have been shared at present, putting doubts over their involvement. It has been suggested that, while Lee and Sixx are clearly working on something together, it may just be tracks for The Dirt, Netflix‘s upcoming biopic about the band.
Adapted from the book The Dirt: Confessions Of The World’s Most Notorious Rock Band, the film will feature Douglas Booth as Sixx and Machine Gun Kelly as Lee. Game Of Thrones star Iwan Rheon has been cast as Mars, while The Punisher actor Daniel Webber will play Neil.
No release date for The Dirt has been confirmed at the time of writing.
