New Order have announced their only UK show of 2018

Your only chance to catch the band on home soil this year

New Order have announced what will be the band’s only UK show of 2018 before heading off on a tour of Latin America.

The synth-pop mainstays will play London’s Alexandra Palace on November 9 with tickets on sale at 9.30am this Friday (September 7).

Ahead of the show, a new concert film/documentary about the group titled New Order: Decades will air on Sky Arts on September 22 at 9pm.

During the film, the band are seen preparing with the artist Liam Gillick and a 12-piece synthesiser orchestra ahead of their performance at Manchester International Festival 2017.

The documentary also promises to take a look back at the past too, offering an unprecedented take on their story by including interviews with some of their closest collaborators.

The screening takes place almost 40 years to the day since the first TV appearance of Joy Division on Granada Reports, a now-legendary performance by the band that first brought New Order’s members together.

Last year, the Manchester icons finally settled a long-running feud with former bassist Peter Hook.

The two parties have been locked in a dispute for some time, with Hook suing New Order members Bernard Sumner, Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert in 2015 for royalties. Hook left New Order in 2007.

The band confirmed in a statement: “The Joy Division and New Order names mean a great deal to so many of the fans, and the band felt it important to protect the legacy.

“With these issues now dealt with, Bernard, Stephen and Gillian can continue to do what they do best, make music and perform live.”
