“Stop tarnishing her legacy”
Amy Winehouse‘s fans have reacted with anger after it was revealed that a hologram representation of the late singer will head out on tour next year.
The music icon, who passed away in 2011 at the age of 27, will be celebrated in a new “immersive” venture, which is being spearheaded by BASE Hologram. It also has the backing of The Amy Winehouse Foundation and the blessing of the Winehouse estate.
But while the tour promises “state-of-the-art” technology, fans have argued that it will tarnish her now legendary position within British musical history.
an Amy Winehouse hologram will be on tour for three years im absolutely disgusted. Like she hasn’t been exploited enough??! Let her rest in peace and stop tarnishing her legacy.

A hologram of Amy Winehouse will be touring the world next year… and I seriously don’t know what to say. Part of me thinks it’s good that we (the ones who were too young when she toured) get the chance to experience her legacy, but another part says no… Rest in peace❤️🥀

Other accused her father, Mitch Winehouse, of attempting to cash in on the singer’s legacy. However, it should be noted that the family’s proceeds will be going towards the Amy Winehouse foundation – which helps young people deal with addiction
At the time of the announcement, he said: “Fans have been clamouring for something new from Amy, but really there isn’t anything new.
One fan responded: “There’s nothing new because she’s dead. Let her rest. Stop mining her memory for money.”
