The band recently shared images of Sixx and Tommy Lee in the studio
Nikki Sixx has told fans the new songs Motley Crüe are working on “crush” and teased a “surprise”.
The bassist was recently photographed in the studio with drummer Tommy Lee in images shared to the band’s official social media channels.
The band are currently working on a biopic titled The Dirt, based on their 2001 book of the same name. They have recorded four new songs for the film’s soundtrack, which Sixx shared more details about on Twitter this week (October 12).

After a fan questioned how new songs fit in to a movie about the band’s past, he replied: “You can trust us these are ball busters. Everybody can relax. Were soon gonna smack you upside the head with some killer new tracks. Bob Rock is producing. Its our movie. We know what were doing.”
Motley Crüe quit touring in 2015 and signed an agreement saying they would never tour again. They last released new music in 2008 with the album ‘Saints Of Los Angeles‘ and, while they haven’t said they won’t release any more new music, have been inactive on that front since.
The Dirt: Confessions Of The World’s Most Notorious Rock Band will star Douglas Booth as Sixx, Machine Gun Kelly as Lee, Game Of Thrones‘ Iwan Rheon as Mick Mars, and The Punisher‘s Daniel Webber as Vince Neil. No release date for the film, which has been in development since 2006, has been confirmed at present.
