Watch Gorillaz play Blur’s ‘Song 2’ with Graham Coxon at LA’s Demon Dayz Festival

Jazz and soul icon George Benson also appeared as a special guest

Gorillaz joined forces with Graham Coxon during their Demon Dayz Festival show last night (October 20) for a cover of Blur‘s ‘Song 2’. Check out footage below.

The cartoon bunch released their latest album ‘The Now Now’ back in June. It followed 2017’s ‘Humanz’. In a four-star review, NME described the new LP as “a trim and spritely listen”.

Yesterday, the band’s self-curated event, Demon Dayz Festival, took place at the Pico Rivera Sports Arena & Grounds in Los Angeles. Gorillaz headlined following performances from the likes of Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Little Simz, and The Internet.

During their career-spanning set – which included hits such as ‘Dirty Harry’, ‘Feel Good Inc.’, and ‘Clint Eastwood’ – Damon Albarn was joined onstage by his Blur bandmate Graham Coxon.

“We’re going to try a bit of cross-pollination,” Albarn told the crowd before Coxon appeared. The group then performed Blur’s high-octane 1997 hit, ‘Song 2’.

Earlier today (October 21), Coxon tweeted: “Amazing evening with my beautiful brothers and sisters.”

George Benson also made an appearance as a special guest. The jazz and soul artist joined the band to perform the collaboration ‘Humility’ live for the first time.
