Mark Ronson’s new album of “sad bangers” features guest spots from Miley Cyrus, Lykke Li, and others

The project is being referred to as ‘The Heartbreak Era’

Mark Ronson has revealed more about his first solo album in three years, which will feature Miley Cyrus and Lykke Li.

The news comes after it was announced on Monday (November 26) that Cyrus would be releasing a collaborative single with the super-producer called ‘Nothing Breaks Like A Heart’.

The pair have teased their collaboration with a snippet of music posted on Twitter, and Ronson sharing footage of a disco ball shaped like a broken heart.

The as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2015’s ‘Uptown Special’ will also feature rising stars Yebba and King Princess.

Ronson told the BBC this week that the record will be full of “sad bangers” in response to his divorce last year to actress Joséphine de La Baum. The publication has described the album as “futuristic” and “country-tinged”.

Cyrus and Ronson will perform the record’s lead single together on December 15 episode of Saturday Night Live.

Elsewhere this year Ronson has released a number of singles including his Silk City collaboration with Dua Lipa, ‘Electricity’.

The songwriter-producer also co-wrote ‘Shallow’ from Bradley Cooper’s remake of A Star is Born. The film soundtrack, which features vocal performances from co-stars Cooper and Lady Gaga, debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, making Gaga the only woman to have five Number 1 albums this decade.
