Dream Wife celebrate ending ‘incredible’ 2018 with 150th show of the year

The punk trio are looking towards LP2 after some well-earned rest

Dream Wife have wrapped up an “incredible” run of around 150 shows in 2018, with the band now looking towards their second album.

The London-based trio released their self-titled debut LP in January. In a five-star review, NME said: “Their glimmering punk-pop is the most exciting thing you’re going to hear this dreary January, and quite likely all 2018.”

Following a UK tour in October, which concluded with a show at London’s Koko, the band completed a European stint last night (December 1) after performing at Munich’s PULS Festival.

Following the gig, Dream Wife shared a message with fans, celebrating “about 150 shows in less than a year”. Check out the image below.

Speaking of their jam-packed 2018, the group said: “[We’ve] been to so many incredible places & met so many incredible people. A whole year of non-stop touring pretty much. Very very very thankful.”

After saying that they will now be taking a break “for a sweet slumber”, the band teased they will then “maybe write a new album”.

“thank u everyone for making this year special,” the post concludes.

Earlier this year, Dream Wife put out an open call for women and non-binary artists to support them on their UK tour. Teaming up with non-profit organisations Girls Rock London and the Girls Rock Camp Alliance, the call was said to help achieve the “band’s mission to smash society’s objectification of women.”

Heading out on the road with the band were the likes of Big Joanie, Cat Apostrophe, Dollie Demi, and Bobby Kakouris.

Meanwhile, Dream Wife are scheduled to return to the stage with an appearance at Live At Leeds 2019. They’ll join acts such as MetronomyTom Grennan, and Sundara Karma at the inner-city bash.
