It’s Beatlemania at The O2 as Ringo Starr is spotted in the crowd for Paul McCartney’s London show

Members of The Who and The Rolling Stones are also getting involved…

Ringo Starr has caused quite the stir amongst Beatles fans at Paul McCartney‘s London gig tonight, with the legendary musician being spotted by fans in the crowd.

McCartney is currently performing at London’s O2 Arena (December 16) in support of his latest record, ‘Egypt Station‘. The huge show follows recent performances in Liverpool and Glasgow.

Ahead of the Beatles icon taking to the stage, those in attendance reported a big commotion after McCartney’s former bandmate and pal Ringo was seen at the venue. Many were said to be snapping images of stickman Starr as they waited for the show to begin.

Journalist Howell Davies tweeted a photo of the drummer surrounded by excited fans, with the caption: ‏“Mini Beatles reunion at The O2 tonight as Ringo Starr has turned up to watch Paul McCartney. Incredible.” See that image below.

Proving to be an evening jam-packed with Rock ‘n’ Roll royalty, a follow-up post claimed that The Who‘s Roger Daltrey and The Rolling Stones‘ Ronnie Wood are also present.

Reviewing Paul McCartney’s recent homecoming show earlier this week, NME‘s Gary Ryan said that the concert was “another example, surely, of Macca refusing to bow to the march of time”.

“In an interview to promote ‘Egypt Station’, he said he’d once ingested so many drugs, he saw the face of God. Judging by tonight’s transcendent gig, perhaps he just looked in the mirror.”

Meanwhile, it was reported earlier this week that police have launched an investigation after a break-in at McCartney’s London home.
