The Radiohead star performed a mash-up of the festive classic and a Radiohead track
Thom Yorke has performed a mash-up of Christmas song ‘Silent Night’ and one of Radiohead’s own tracks during a recent show.
The star was performing solo at Las Vegas’ The Chelsea venue last night (December 22) when he surprised the crowd with his own take on the festive classic.
Yorke opened his second encore of the night with ‘Silent Night’, which then led into ‘Reckoner’, originally released on the Oxford band’s 2007 album ‘In Rainbows’. You can watch fan-shot footage of the moment below.

Yorke’s other band Atoms For Peace were briefly reunited during his concert in Los Angeles earlier this week (December 19). Flea, Joey Waronker, Nigel Godrich, and Tarik Barri all joined the musician on stage to perform the group’s eponymous track.
Meanwhile, the Radiohead frontman revealed what to expect from his next solo album earlier this year. “I didn’t have the wish to make politically charged music, but everything I do goes that way anyways”, he told Elmundo. “I’m trying to finish a record with Nigel [Godrich] and it’s going that way. It’s something that’s always there.”
He added that the record was “very electronic” but “different to anything I’ve done til now.” In the interview, he also shared that he had been “improvising” with “lots of sounds and effects.”
Yorke’s most recent release came in the form of the soundtrack to horror remake Suspiria. He has been nominated for Best Original Song at the 2019 Oscars for the track ‘Suspirium’.
