The highest-grossing tours of 2018 have been revealed, with young pop acts dominating the top 25.

Billboard reports that Ed Sheeran’s ‘Divide’ tour comes in at first place, grossing more than $429 million (approximately £335 million) in 99 shows all over the world. Sheeran has set a new year-end record in Billboard’s Boxscore, which has been running since 1990, beating The Rolling Stones’ record of $425.1 million (approximately £335 million) for their 2006 ‘A Bigger Bang’ tour.

The ‘Shape of You’ singer has also set the all-time record for the highest-grossing solo tour.

Young pop artists predominantly fill the top 10. U2 land the number one spot in the rock genre tour list.

U2, who appear seventh in the overall list, grossed more than $199 million (approximately £155 million) in 2018. The band’s ‘360‎°’ tour that took place from 2009-2011 retains the title of the highest-grossing tour of all time ($736 million).

Billboard’s Boxscore charts are based on information from concerts that took place between November 1 2017 and October 31 2018.
