Lil Xan to become a father for the first time

“I’ve never felt more happy in my life”

Lil Xan has announced that he is to become a father for the first time.

The ‘Betrayed’ rapper, 22, revealed the news yesterday (February 17) via his Instagram that he and his girlfriend Amy Smith are expecting.

He wrote that he’s “never felt more happy” alongside a picture of him embracing Smith.

“I wanted to wait but I just can’t leave my fans in the dark, its official I’m going to be a father,” he wrote. “I love you guys so much and hope you stay along for this crazy journey and I’ve never felt more happy in my life all of you are invited to the gender reveal party I promise!”

He continued: “Can’t wait to show the world everything I’ve been working on at YouTube space and my official sophomore album ‘BE SAFE’ and to my baby my angel my sunshine @anniiesmith.

“I love you with all my heart thank you for saving me I love you more then words could describe.”

Lil Xan split from his last girlfriend, Noah Cyrus, the younger sister of Miley Cyrus, in September 2017.

The news comes as Xan prepares to release his second album ‘Be Safe’, which follows his 2016 debut studio album, ‘Total Xanarchy’.

In a two-star review of the record, NME wrote: “Lil Xan is by no means the worst thing to happen to hip-hop, nor does he symbolise its death. However, he isn’t very good either. Stretched to a full album’s worth of material, Xan’s music, like a certain branded prescription drug, quickly tires those with little tolerance.”

Last November Xan said that he was heading into rehab in a bid to tackle his addictions after the death of Mac Miller.

He thanked his fans for “being so supportive” and added that he couldn’t wait to “get back clean ready to finish my album!”

‘Be Safe’ drops on March 3 via Columbia Records.
