Watch Dave’s powerful new video for ‘Black’ as he announces debut album ‘Psychodrama’

Stormzy and Manchester City footballer Raheem Sterling are among the famous faces who feature in the clip for ‘Black’

Dave has announced his debut studio album ‘Psychodrama’, pairing the big news with the release of the powerful video for his latest single ‘Black’.

The London rapper will release the album on March 8, which follows on from his breakthrough 2017-released EP ‘Game Over’. Dave achieved chart success last year with the Fredo collaboration ‘Funky Friday’, which hit number one in the UK singles chart in October and made Dave only the second artist to debut a track at number one in the UK (the first being Drake).

Previewing ‘Psychodrama’ with the release of its lead single ‘Black’ last night (February 21), Dave has now shared the video for the track. Directed by Nathan James Tettey and Edem Wornoo, the clip – which was filmed in London, Manchester and Lagos, Nigeria – is described as “a profound exploration of black identity, excellence and the diaspora”.

The clip features cameos from the likes of Stormzy, Manchester City and England footballer Raheem Sterling, Radio 1 DJ Tiffany Calver and British athlete Dina Asher-Smith.

Last year, Dave’s song ‘Question Time’ was named best contemporary song at the 2018 Ivor Novello Awards.
