‘The Dead Don’t Die’ also stars Bill Murray and Tilda Swinton
Jim Jarmusch’s upcoming zombie movie, The Dead Don’t Die, has revealed an all-star cast.
The movie, released on June 14, stars Iggy Pop, RZA, Tom Waits, Bill Murray, Selena Gomez, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton, Chloë Sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Sturgill Simpson, Danny Glover, Caleb Landry Jones, Rosie Perez, Sara Driver, and Carol Kane.
It’s not the first time that the American director and screenwriter has worked with some of the cast. Iggy Pop had a small role in Jarmusch’s 1995 film Dead Man, while Tom Waits starred in Down By Law (1986).
RZA scored and appeared in Jarmusch’s 1999 film, Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai. Elsewhere, Coffee and Cigarettes featured one memorable short with Waits and Pop in conversation and another one where RZA and GZA spent time with Bill Murray.
The Dead Don’t Die follows Jarmusch’s 2016 documentary on the Stooges, Gimme Danger.
In NME’s three star review, Matt Wilkinson said it the film was a “loving tribute to one of America’s most influential bands.”
Jarmusch released a new collaborative album with Jozef van Wissem, An Attempt to Draw Aside the Veil. Neil Young’s Dead Man soundtrack was also recently reissued.
