Kodak Black tells fans they should put him in the same category as Nas, The Notorious B.I.G. and 2Pac

This isn’t the first time the rapper has invited comparisons to 2Pac and Biggie.

Kodak Black has declared himself to be on the same level as legendary rappers 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G and Nas.

Making the controversial statement on Instagram Live yesterday (March 20), the ‘ZEZE’ rapper started by saying: “I’m the hardest rapper in the game, I promise.”

Continuing, he added: “Like, when you talk ‘bout me, you should put me in a category of like ‘Pac, B.I.G, Nas, den ni**as, you feel me? Like really listen to my shit. I don’t care about how I act, like, on the ‘Gram.”

While the Nas comparison is new, it’s not the first time Kodak has invited comparisons to 2Pac and Biggie. In 2016 he released a mixtape called ‘Lil B.I.G. Pac’ featuring artwork inspired by both rappers.

Donning 2Pac’s trademark bandana, Kodak was pictured as a baby mimicking the cover to Biggie’s classic debut album, ‘Ready To Die’.

Kodak Black’s ‘Lil B.I.G. Pac’ was released in 2016.

Many rappers over the years have modelled themselves on 2Pac and Biggie or directly compared themselves to the deceased icons.

In 2017, Young Thug declared himself the “new Pac” after dropping his mixtape ‘Beautiful Thugger Girls’ (originally titled ‘Easy Breezy Beautiful Thugger Girls’ and abbreviated as ‘E.B.B.T.G’)  on 2Pac’s birthday (June 16).

In the same year, Troy Ave also declared himself the “Nu Pac” and proceeded to release a mixtape of the same name.

Music fans have taken to Twitter to share their reactions to the claim made by Kodak.

One user wrote: “Cant believe Kodak Black compares himself to 2pac, Biggie and Nas. He’s not in the rap legendary status at all. He’s just garbage,” while another said: “He’s not even in Chingy, Fabolous or Lloyd Banks level.”

“Come on bro 2pac and biggie level?? Nah bro you on the level that no one listen to straight up young ma better then you lol,” another user added.

In other news, Kodak Black was last week added to the line-up of Holland’s WOO HAH! festival.

Joining the likes of Travis Scott, StormzyPusha T, BROCKHAMPTON, Octavian, Little Simz, Lil Uzi Vert, and Rae Sremmurd, the festival runs from July 12-14 2019.
