Listen to Mac DeMarco’s chilled new single ‘Nobody’ from upcoming album ‘Here Comes The Cowboy’

Yeehaw!

Mac DeMarco is back, sharing new single ‘Nobody’ and announcing new album ‘Here Comes The Cowboy’.

Fans on Reddit grew excited earlier today when one user shared a photo after spotting a poster for the follow-up to 2017’s ‘This Old Dog‘ – showing the album’s simple smiley face artwork along with a May 10 release date:

Now, details of the record have been confirmed along with a new video for lead single ‘Nobody’ featuring a lizard cowboy type character.

“This one is my cowboy record,” said DeMarco of the album. “Cowboy is a term of endearment to me, I use it often when referring to people in my life. Where I grew up there are many people that sincerely wear cowboy hats and do cowboy activities. These aren’t the people I’m referring to.”

The tracklist is:

‘Here Comes The Cowboy’
‘Nobody’
‘Finally Alone’
‘Little Dogs March’
‘Preoccupied’
‘Choo Choo’
‘K’
‘Heart To Heart’
‘Hey Cowgirl’
‘On The Square’
‘All Of Our Yesterdays’
‘Skyless Moon’
‘Baby Bye Bye’

This comes after it was announced that DeMarco will celebrate the new record with a big outdoor show in Margate this summer, with the artist being confirmed as the headline act at the town’s Dreamland venue/amusement park on June 29.

DeMarco will also curate the full line-up on the day in collaboration with London promoters Bird On The Wire, and fans are promised “a day of music and rides” on gig day. Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday (March 8) at 10am, priced at £36 plus fees – tickets will be available here.

This is DeMarco’s second UK show to be scheduled for 2019 so far – he’ll perform as part of All Points East festival’s packed bill on Sunday, June 2. Bon Iver will headline the east London event on that day.
