Keith Flint, the late Prodigy frontman, clocked a “storming” personal best time in the Chelmsford edition of the weekly Parkrun series two days before his passing, it has emerged.
Flint’s death was confirmed by the band earlier today (March 4) after police found the frontman dead in his Essex home after taking his own life. He was 49.
Numerous tributes to Flint have emerged following the sad news of his death, with one account revealing that Flint had just achieved a personal best in the Chelmsford Central Parkrun on Saturday (March 2).
Journalist, author and runner Rob Hadgraft shared the information on Twitter this afternoon, writing: “Sad news about #KeithFlint – comes only two days after he’d looked in great shape and spirits, storming round the Chelmsford Parkrun in a PB of around 21 minutes.”

Another Twitter user added that a Chelmsford Parkrun official clarified that Flint had in fact taken part in the Chelmsford Parkrun for the past three weeks.

Among those to pay tribute to Flint today was Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis, who revealed that The Prodigy had been booked to play at the upcoming 2019 edition of the festival.
“We are so saddened to hear about the passing of Keith Flint,” Eavis wrote on social media. “He’s played here so many times with the Prodigy and was booked for 2019. What an incredible frontman.”
