Watch Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst cover Death Cab For Cutie

The pair played a classic by the Ben Gibbard-led band during a recent Seattle show

Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst have covered a track from Death Cab For Cutie’s ‘Transatlanticism’.

The duo are currently on tour in the US under the moniker Better Oblivion Community Center, in support of their self-titled joint album.

While performing at Seattle’s Showbox venue on Sunday (March 17), the pair opened their set with the cover of ‘Title And Registration’, which featured on the 2003 album. You can watch fan-shot footage of the performance below.

The rest of the set also featured a cover of The Replacements’ ‘Can’t Hardly Wait’, two Bright Eyes songs in ‘Bad Blood’ and ‘Easy/Lucky/Free’, and two of Bridgers’ own tracks, ‘Would You Rather’ and ‘Funeral’.

Earlier this month, Bridgers and Oberst covered The Killers’ ‘Human’ as they kicked off their tour in Las Vegas.

Speaking to NME about what to expect from the tour, Bridgers said: “I think we’re going to try to have fun with it, but we’re not quite sure what [the setlist will be yet].”

Oberst added: “The record is only 40 or so minutes, so in order for us to do a headline set we’re going to have to come up with some more material. I think [we’ll do] covers and maybe reworking some of our own songs too.”

The duo will bring the tour to the UK and Ireland in May for four shows. They will play:

May 2019

10 – Bristol, O2 Academy
11 – London, O2 Shepherds Bush Empire
12 – Manchester, O2 Ritz
13 – Dublin, Vicar Street

Meanwhile, this weekend (March 16) Bridgers was gifted a sword by a fan after she shared a story on Twitter about her time touring with Ryan Adams.
