Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex (AKA Meghan Markle) are expecting – but will their baby get the prince/princess title?
Based on the royal lineage, the baby will be seventh in line of succession to the throne. According to tradition, the eldest son of a duke – Prince Harry is the Duke of Sussex – could be the Earl of Dumbarton before inheriting the Duke title. Further sons would be Lord (Name) Windsor, while further daughters would be Lady (Name) Windsor.
But there is another option: Queen Elizabeth could give Meghan and Harry‘s child a similar title to the children of Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (AKA Kate Middleton).
If so, a son would be named His Royal Highness Prince (Name) of Sussex, while a daughter would be Her Royal Highness Princess (Name) of Sussex.
Meghan previously revealed that her due date is “around April,” so we’ll find out soon enough!
