Charlie Davies-Carr is looking forward.
The 18-year-old—who rose to stardom in 2007 as the subject of the viral “Charlie Bit My Finger” YouTube clip—shared a rare update on his life since finding internet fame nearly two decades ago.
So, what has Charlie been up to? He certainly hasn’t been boasting to new acquaintances about his appearance in the video, which has amassed over 880 million views on the platform as of 2025.
“It’s not like I use it as an icebreaker or anything,” Charlie—who starred in the clip at around 12 months old alongside his older brother Harry Davies-Carr—told BBC Newsbeat in an interview published Feb. 18. “I was never going to use this as a fun fact.”
Still, friends of the teenager—who is currently studying law at university—occasionally blow his cover.
“My friends like to tell people sometimes, so it’s hard keeping it locked down,” Charlie explained. “It slips out every now and then. And people are like: ‘Oh that’s cool,’ for like five minutes. Or they say, ‘I don’t know what that is.'”
