Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s On The Run II show interrupted by stage invader

The Carters are currently touring their joint show in the US

Beyoncé and Jay-Z‘s On The Run II show was interrupted by a stage invasion last night (August 25). Check out footage below.

The Carters are currently touring the US following a run of huge UK stadium shows in June. NME described the joint concert as “a two-hour masterclass from a pair of icons who are seemingly hell-bent on proving that love conquers all“.

On the first of two nights in Atlanta, a man managed to make his way onto the stage as Beyoncé and Jay-Z were departing. Fan footage shows the pair’s dancers quickly attempt to stop the stage invader before security is forced to step in.

“There’s a fight, oh my God!” one concerned fan says as the incident unfolds, while the Instagram caption calls into question security risks at the show. “He got up there WAY too easy,” the user posted.

The duo will take to the stage at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium once again tonight (August 26), with the US tour continuing into September. It concludes in Seattle on October 4.

Meanwhile, Beyoncé recently revealed her highlight from the stint so far.

“One of the most memorable moments for me on the On The Run II tour was the Berlin show at Olympiastadion, the site of the 1936 Olympics,” she said. “This is a site that was used to promote the rhetoric of hate, racism, and divisiveness, and it is the place where Jesse Owens won four gold medals, destroying the myth of white supremacy.”

She continued: “Less than 90 years later, two black people performed to a packed, sold-out stadium. When Jay and I sang our final song, we saw everyone smiling, holding hands, kissing, and full of love. To see such human growth and connection – I live for those moments.”

Jay-Z and Beyoncé dropped their surprise joint LP, ‘Everything Is Love’, in June.

At this month’s MTV VMAs, The Carters took home two awards for the single ‘APESHIT’. The track’s Louvre-set visuals won Best Cinematography and Best Art Direction.
