Brody Dalle has confirmed that The Distillers will be heading into the studio to work on a new album later this year.

Punk fans rejoiced when Dalle confirmed the return of the band last year. After announcing that their line-up would be the same as their formation during their last release ‘Coral Fang’ in 2003, the punk veterans then set about performing a run of US dates – their first shows in 12 years.

The band also surprised fans by dropping two new songs ‘Man Vs Magnet’ and ‘Blood In Gutters‘ last year, and it now it seems that more new music is on the horizon.

Posting a recent set of holiday photos to celebrate Christmas and her 40th birthday on Instagram, Dalle wrote: “Hello 40 , hello vintage 80’s dress from Paris that I found in the desert 5 years ago for NYE and never wore , hello luck , hello love , hello success hello divine protection , hello health , hello wishes , hello cake for breakfast , hello 2019 , hello you , happy new year! HELLO making a Distillers record in April , oh yes das right.”

Meanwhile, The Distillers have been confirmed to the UK this summer as part of the line-up of August’s Reading & Leeds Festival 2019.

They be performing on Friday August 23 in Leeds, and Sunday August 25. Headliners will be Foo Fighters, Post Malone, Foo Fighters and Twenty One Pilots, while other confirmed acts include Billie Eilish, Bastille, Pale Waves, Blossoms, Juice WRLD, PVRIS and more.

The band were at the forefront of the California punk scene at the turn of the century, releasing three acclaimed and highly influential albums between 2000 and 2003. They announced their split in 2006 following the departure of drummer Andy Granelli and bassist Ryan Sinn. Remaining members Dalle and Tony Bevilacqua then went on to form Spinerette, before Dalle later launched a successful solo career with the acclaimed album ‘Diploid Love‘.

It is believed that more new material will be released before festival season in the summer.
