Serj Tankian will feature on System Of A Down’s John Dolmayan’s album

Dolmayan’s These Grey Men will release their next album “in the next four months”

System Of A Down drummer John Dolmayan has confirmed that his bandmate and frontman Serj Tankian will guest feature on the next album from his side project These Grey Men.

Dolmayan is currently putting the finishing touches to These Grey Men’s next release. He originally launched the side project back in 2014 along with musician James Hazley, asking fans to participate in and contribute to a Kickstarter campaign to help fund These Grey Men’s first recording.

Speaking to SOAD Mexico recently, Dolmayan revealed that Tankian has contributed vocals to two songs on the upcoming album, which he hopes to have finished and released “in the next four months”.

“I’m still working on it – it’ll be released within the next four months,” Dolmayan said. “All the songs are finished, but we’re in the process of adding strings.”

“There’s some cool artists on it,” he continued about his collaborators. “Serj sang two songs. The Avenged Sevenfold singer – I don’t know if you know Matt, he’s fantastic. Really nice guy, by the way, and he sang a song…

“I have a bunch of other friends. Tom Morello played guitar on a song. I know it’s been forever, but it will be released.”

As fans continue to wait for news on the next System Of A Down album – their last full release coming 14 years ago this year – bassist Shavo Odadjian claimed last month that the band’s newest material “tops everything we’ve ever done”.
