The line-up grows ever stronger…
A new wave of acts has been announced for Live at Leeds 2019, and it’s led by the likes of Sam Fender, Drenge and Kate Tempest.
The multi-venue festival returns across the city on May 4, and sees all three taking their place on a line-up that already includes the likes of Tom Grennan, Metronomy and Sundara Karma.
Other new additions include The Sherlocks, US rockers Mini Mansions, WOOZE, Bloxx, whenyoung and Confidence Man.
Describing what fans can expect, The Sherlocks said: “Really looking forward to playing in front of the Leeds crowd again! We will bring the Rock N Roll. No backing tracks, how many bands can say that these days? Bring it on!”

Fender’s performance comes as he prepares to release his debut album, after winning the prestigious BRITS Critics Choice Award for 2019.
Speaking to NME in 2018, Fender explained how Bruce Springsteen proved to be one of his biggest inspirations.
“It’s just what’s in front of me really. My favourite writers are always great storytellers like Bruce Springsteen, I adore Bruce Springsteen. I feel like he doesn’t beat around the bush and he doesn’t overcomplicate things. He puts things into layman’s terms and tells stories that anyone can understand,” explained Fender.
“I still think a lot of his songs still speak to me. I’m not a lad from New Jersey in the ’70s, I’m a lad from the coast Newcastle 2018 and I still feel like it draws a lot of parallels. I like to write about stories and life experiences of me, the people around us and just the things I see on the telly without overcomplicating things. I’m not like a university educated scholar, I just sing what I see.”
