Zeeko Zaki will star in the straight-to-series drama from the ‘Law & Order’ mastermind.
CBS’ forthcoming Dick Wolf drama FBI has cast its leading man.
Zeeko Zaki has landed the prime starring role in the straight-to-series, 13-episode drama.
From Law & Order mastermind Wolf, FBI explores the inner-workings of the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Zaki will play FBI special agent OA, who made it from Bushwick to West Point, and has both the confidence — and the will — of someone who has had to fight every step of the way. After spending two years undercover, the DEA abruptly ripped him out, and he was cherry-picked by the FBI.
Craig Turk (The Good Wife) is set to pen the script and exec produce alongside Wolf and his Universal Television-based Wolf Films postproduction head Arthur W. Forney and president and COO Peter Jankowski. Niels Arden Oplev will also exec produce and direct the co-production between Universal TV and CBS Television Studios.
Zaki’s credits include History’s Six, Fox’s 24: Legacy and The CW’s Valor. He’s repped by Authentic Talent and Literary Management.
FBI brings Wolf back to CBS nearly 30 years after the prolific producer behind NBC’s Chicago franchise initially pitched what would become Law & Order. After Fox originally ordered and scrapped the series, CBS picked up a new pilot for Law & Order in 1988. It ultimately ended up at NBC, where that pilot aired as the sixth episode of what would become one of the network’s biggest franchises.
